Why did you pick this picture?
This is the biggest project I’ve worked on in a while and I’ve really enjoyed being able to share my progress as I go.
Where did the idea come from?
I grew up in an area where play time meant running around the woods in our back yard. We would build forts, play games, and explore. Being surrounded by nature is where I feel the most connected to my imagination and creative side. In some ways, this piece tells a small part of my personal narrative. This particular piece was heavily inspired by a recent hike I went on in Washington state, known as the skyline trail. The trail runs along a peak near Mount Rainier and looks out across the Cascades. The view of the layers of blue mountains in the distance was breathtaking.
Can you tell us a bit about yourself? .
