Why did you picked this picture/ Where did the idea for this art come from?
I admire Dita’s personality, her image really inspires me. I can definitely say that she is my muse, so I decided to immortalize her on paper.
What does this art mean to you?
This art is really special to me because it took a lot of time and efforts to draw it. I guess that this picture is a new step in my art career, is shows huge progress in my creative work.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I’m Daria Tsapaeva, a 18-year-old artist from Russia. Drawing for me is a way to sublimate my creative energy and an alternative way to express myself. I think that it’s necessary to create something new, contribute to the vitality.
What more can you tell us about your art?
I consider myself as a portrait artist, I draw people who really inspire me in my life, thus I want to express my profound gratitude to them. In my artworks I predominantly use graphite pencils because I really like to play with tones and half-tones, creating incredible effects. Black-and-white artworks make an atmosphere of inscrutability, they are like old photos from 19th and 20th centuries, so I prefer to draw in this style.
