The hobbit – _momos_art

Why did you pick this picture?

I’ve loved Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit ever since I read them for the first time.
Where did the idea come from?

Then, when u saw the movies I was extremely disappointed. I couldn’t believe how much they’d left out and how they had even changed some of the story – especially in the Hobbit.
Why does it mean so much to you?

I still loved the whole concept art and also how they portrayed a lot of the characters. So I chose this image from the Hobbit movie poster to paint. It shows the artistic qualities of the movie, but not all the things I hate about it 🙂
What can you tell us about yourself?

I’m 18 yrs old and I’ve been drawing and painting since u was about 13. That’s when u realised I could do it quite well and so I continued. My first “breakthrough” sort of moment was when I drew Legolas for the first time. It turned out so much better than anything I’d done before that I decided to try again. And from then on I just kept going and improving. And even though u never did any art courses or had any training, I’m going to study art next year

What more can you tell us about your art?

If you look at my feed you’ll see that I do lots of really random things. That’s because I’ve never really limited myself to one medium or style. Every time I start a new project I come up with new ideas for how to draw or make or paint whatever I want to draw or make or paint. I usually just go with what I feel like at the time or with what I feel suits my subject.
