Taste appeeeel – popmyeyes

Why did you pick this picture?
I recently started publishing some of my own artwork along with the curation I’ve running as the Pop My Eyes Instagram account.
This is one of the first images I’ve published and it just really sums up what POP MY EYES is all about: Eye-popping art, design & awesome shit.
My whole aim is to make people look by creating and curating intriguing visuals.
It’s all about making those eyes POP!

Where did the idea for this art come from?
Having been curating some amazing art for a while, I’ve become really inspired by the artists I have been exhibiting and the recent trend of creating a new kind of pop art by collaging images together, to create funny and absurd new visuals.
As a result I’ve been creating my own images with this technique, always with the aim of creating something that makes people look and look again.

What does this art mean to you?

It’s fun, it’s simple, a little bit weird or maybe a lot, it’s entertaining and refreshing and it just generally makes me happy to look at when I need a break from my real life… And it aims to do this for anyone else as well.
What can you tell us about yourself?

I’ve decided to run Pop My Eyes on an anonymous basis. The art I curate and create speaks for itself, I’m really just the one putting it all in one place.
I work in the creative industry by day and I become Pop My Eyes by night and that’s when the magic happens ✨
I have so many plans and ideas of where to take this account and I’m super excited about how things have been going so far.
So keep watching my space 😜

What more can you tell us about your art?
My art and curation of art is really just there to be enjoyed, to entertain, to relief, to question and sometimes also to shock. It’s really there for anyone to take what they want from it and it’s there to stop you in whatever you’re doing and for a few seconds just stop and stare
