Leap of faith – ev_illustration

Why did you pick this picture?

The turtles are my favourite heroes of all time so naturally i chose this piece to be my favourite. They taught me so much at a yiung age about honour, faith, belief in one self, and the value of family.

Where did the idea come from?

The idea came from the fact that Shredder, their arch nemesis, always seems to come back to haunt them. I wanted to show that these brothers never quit and even an impossible task such as this one pictured doesn’t scare them. They will try and do whatever it takes to at least try. That’s all that matters. Trying to do whats right and save the day.

Why does this mean so much to you?

This art means a lot to me because of them being my favourites but also i feel this is the one picture i made that i feel noone else has ever done. This pose, the idea, the concept and passion behind it are all me.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’m a definite nerd at heart, but also love sports, hip hop, and 90’s television. I’m Canadian. I work full time but always make time for my art and will never stop that passion. I’ve been drawing since i was a kid and frequently do conventions to keep the energy growing for what i love and to reach out to a fan base.

What more can you tell us about your art?

My art is an homage to the heroes i grew up idolizing, and still idolizing: Michael Turner, Jim Lee, David Finch, J. Scott Campbell.

I would say mine is a style that hybrids these fellas, but also my own ideas of silhouettes and grphics playing a role in making a piece POP.
