Piece 34 – linnieohlou

Why did you pick this picture?

I have been working on a 100 day challenge where I paint a nebula every day. This piece is day 34.

Where did the idea come from?

This whole project was inspired by a friend of mine who completed a 100 day challenge and loved it. So I decided to take it on myself. I love outer space. I think it is the most mysterious, yet most beautiful thing our knowledge can comprehend. To know that there are these vast clouds of color out there is such an inspiration to me as an artist.

What does this picture mean to you?

This huge series that I’m working on has been such a challenge on my creativity and overall perseverance to continue being creative every day. It has stretched me as an artist…and I’m not even halfway done!

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am a graphic designer in my last semester of college. So all the while as I’m working on these paintings, I’m also working on a huge senior project. I’m consistently being stretched thin to be innovative and create some of my best work as an artist and a designer. But I’m a very determined and stubborn individual. If I set my mind to it, I’ll do anything and everything it takes to get things done.

What more can you tell us about your art?

My art has always been an avenue in which to experiment. I love trying new things to get different effects so I’m constantly exploring new techniques and mediums. I just simply love creating. From design to animation to fine art to illustration. I love it all! I could do this for the rest of my life.
