Steampunk Chameleon –

Why did you pick this picture?

It is my favourite drawing of my collection of steampunk animals.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

A chameleon has a very interesting body shape – his head and tail inspired me to do a steampunk version of this lizard because they gave me so many opportunities to draw tiny details and make it look agile at the same time.

What does this art mean to you?

I love to put as much technical and mechanical details as possible in a drawing. My steampunk beasts are the perfect way to create something that combines all the little pieces of a machine with the natural appearance of an animal. This is how I can draw nature and steampunk engines at the same time.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am a 17 years old artist from Berlin. Drawing is my passion since I can remember and therefore an important part of my life. I love to draw with pencils, copic markers and also very thin fineliners.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I mainly use drawing for relaxation which is why most of my pictures don’t have a deep meaning. I just try to make something aesthetic, something that gives you many details to look at, something that you must see up close. My goal is to make people take a second or even third look at pictures because there is so much to discover that you will never see if you don’t take your time to watch closely.
