Why did you pick this picture?
I picked this picture because it is the piece I am currently most proud of. I lost my motivation to finish it about half way through but I’m really glad I pushed through because I love the final result.
Where did this idea come from?
I started coloring a mandala coloring book a long time ago, really liked how endless the patterns are and how you can really just let your imagination flow.
What does this art mean to you?
This art means a lot to mean because it has been a great way for me to deal with my anxiety. Whenever I have an anxiety attack, I can pick up a pen and start drawing and I’ll instantly start feeling better.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I am 20 years old and from a small city in Saskatchewan. I aspire to be a tattoo artist in the future, so right now I am working on building my portfolio! My two main style focuses are line work (mandalas and intriquite patterns) as well as children’s decor! I love bright colors, but I also love the simplicity of black and white art.
What more can you tell us about your art?
My art means a lot to mean because I have used it not only to cope with my anxiety, but also because it helped me to get through a very tough time in my life. I lost my mother when I was 17 and I had a hard time with it, I know my mom would have wanted me to follow my dreams, so I began exploring art more. Thank you mom for giving me the inspiration I needed. I miss you every day.
