Enchanting 嫣然 – calvintengdesigns

Why did you pick this picture?

This piece preserves a field of white, not to project a sense of barrenness, but to capture and instill characteristics of air and moisture to equalize the painting. The white allows the entire piece to breathe and gives life to the painting, all the while evoking and stimulating our perceptive senses.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

All artworks that I create is in direct correlation to everything I pursue and hold in my life. I constantly search for things with inspiration and gravitate toward things which move my heart. This pursuit of value has ultimately allowed me to transform my artwork into a way of life.

I paint, therefore I am.

What does this art mean to you?

My art revolves around the core conception that represents life is infinitely in motion, progressing boundlessly and indefinitely through the sequence of time.

What can you tell us about yourself?

My artistic career has enabled me to venture into the realms of singing, songwriting, theater director, actor, and playwright. I base my foundation through musicality, principles of theater, and the philosophy of life forged into my works.

7. What more can you tell us about your art?

Influenced by Western contemporary abstract expressionism and united with the essence of Eastern oriental aesthetics. The core value of my works depict how opposing forces contradict one another, yet they are mutually interconnected and inseparable through the fundamentals of the Yin and Yang. These contradictory yet complimentary polar opposites are present in every composition I create to achieve equilibrium in one’s mind, body, and soul to embody total oneness. Enabling the mind to wander into immeasurable depths, as landscape transmutes into abstraction upon completion.
