Movember – indudahiya

Why Did you pick this picture?

When I started drawing, faces were the toughest to get right. So this particular portrait is like a milestone for me. It is far from perfect but it represents my ongoing struggle for learning and perfection.

Where Did you get the idea from?

I like Ranveer Singh, a movie star, for his grit, hard work and the infectious smile. And then I saw my son working hard to raise funds for Movember. Putting the two together, this one was a Natural choice.

What does this mean to you?

This means meeting a challenge in its face for me. My fear of drawing faces prevented me from drawing those for a long time. This signifies battles on various fronts- my own battle with my fear, and our battle against cancer.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I started drawing using my phone about three years back. Art had always been an integral part of my life, but this form was entirely new for me. Being from the generation which isn’t really gadget friendly, it took me a while to get the hang of it. But being a teacher, learning new things and the challenges it presents has always excited me. Hence, I began my journey and I continue to learn.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I use Samsung Note to practice my art. It was a shockingly different choice given the assumption that my generation is abhorrent to the idea of technology. I love Digital drawing and look forward to improve it.
My art, if I can dare to call it that, is my way of expression and learning. It is an important part of my day and has lead to me meeting some wonderful people online.
