Endangered Green Sea Turtle – buttafly_art

Why did you pick this Picture?
I thought it would be great to combine an angel with a Green Sea Turtle to show how important it is to protect our endangered species.
Where did the idea come from?
Since i do thought-provoking art i thought it was time for a series on endangered species. Since the Green Sea Turtles are pretty high up on the List, i wanted to provoke thinking through an artwork.

What does this Art mean to you?
I used to have a little Turtle called Mini when i was a Kid, so i really feel connected to these creatures. I couldn’t take my turtle with me moving back to Germany from Turkey, so i left it with my preschool teacher who had a huge pond with turtles in his Garden.
What can you tell us about yourself?
I was born as half Zambian, half German on the 28th of September 1989, in Friedrichshafen, Germany. Got the chance to grow up in 6 different Countries (Uganda, Turkey, Israel, Abu Dhabi, Germany, Greece) and to visit a lot of places around the world (Zambia, Namibia, Columbia, Hungary, Japan, Jordan, France, England, Kenya, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Dubai, Qatar…) All the experiences made during my stay in all those countries, made me see the whole world as my home and not only where I was born.

Studied Graphic-Design in Germany, but 2013 I felt like I had to get away from a Commercial form of Art to a more Traditional Art. That was the Start of BUTTAFLY

What more can you tell us about your art?

I express my love through my Paintings, but also my worries. There are so many influences, that a lot have forgotten the difference between good and bad. The colors which are chosen for the paintings, represent different emotions to strengthen the messages.
