Rainbow hair illustration – Milica Vujovic

Why did you pick this picture?

I chose it because I love drawing different styles of hair, I am mesmerized every time I see some crazy, colorful hairstyle. I immediately want to transfer it to drawing, and to get lost into thousands of colors. Also, I love colorful drawings, they are fun to do and also very challenging for me.

Where did the idea of this art came from?

I had a lack of inspiration in that moment, so I googled some pictures as I always do. I came across this wonderful hairstylist, Guy Tang. I looked for him on all social medias and immediately fell in love with his work. All of his wonderful hairstyles woke up in me an urge to draw loads of different hairstyles, and to practice it.

What does this art means to you?

As every artist, having problems sometimes with an inspiration is usual, so every time I take a look at this drawing, I immediately get my inspiration back. I love all my drawings and illustrations, but this piece is really close to my heart.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am an artist living in Serbia, and I have been drawing since I was 5 years old. I have to thank my mother fir waking up the love towards art in me. She was the one who showed me the way into the art world, bringin me loads of cartoon pictures so she and I could draw them. I was finishing art college and working at the same time, so as soon as I fbished college, I quit my job so I could be full time artist and illustrator. My love towards art is limitless, thus why I love to experiment with a lot of different styles and techniques.

What more can you tell us about your art?

The beauty of art is that it is very personal. Every artist is putting a piece of his soul and heart in every single piece of art. So, I am putting myself out there, hoping that all those pieces of my heart and soul would be understood and accepted in this big world. It is very scary and challenging, but eventually I will find my way through, I just need to work hard and believe enough.
