Late afternoon on the beach – Lilla Schuch

Why did you pick this picture?

Because its from my latest travel, and it brings up good memories from that day. Greece is beautiful!

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I’m usually inspired by photos taken during my personal experiences. I particularly like landscapes and seascapes.

What does this art mean to you?

Sketchbook paintings are great for conserving the moment and later on can be a good reference for more serious work.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I love watercolor painting since a young age, most of the time I paint it’s in watercolor medium. In the recent years, I took part in several international exhibitions, and I’m constantly trying to develop myself.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I really enjoy making sketches on location. I also make a loose sketch before I paint anything, and sometimes those sketches turn out better than the final one. I started a series, called “Foldable landscapes” some years ago, which are basically landscape sketches with watercolor in my Moleskine sketchbook. This one is the newest piece of this series.
