Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this picture because it’s one of my favourite of the series “Manual of The Warrior of Light”, even if it’s not the most liked 🙂 and I think it catches the attention of the viewer.

Where did the idea come from?

The idea came out of nothing almost two years ago, or maybe it was inside of me even before. Coelho’s book “Manual of The Warrior of Light” is one of my favourite ever, because it’s filled with grace and wisdom, so I decide to honour such a gift and I started illustrating each page of the book. This in particular talks about patience, speed and balance in life.

What does this art mean to you?

These illustrations I do, are very important to me, because they are inspired by a very important book for my life. I started almost two years ago, and since then, in every free moment I have, I go on with the illustrations of every page. I finished half of the work, and I enjoy creating every illustration, from the inspiration of the image to the making of it. As soon as I finish all the book, I’m going to send all the work to Paulo Coelho, hoping that he like it, and who knows? maybe I will be able to be published.;)

What can you tell us about yourself?

Something like five years ago I had a bad, hard, awful job, I didn’t like it and I felt miserable. I started drawing after years and years without touching a pencil, and for the first time after many years, I felt good again. From that momento on, I never stopped drawing and painting. For me it’s like a form of meditation, a place to find peace of mind, and a way to express things that I have inside and that have no other way to come out. After a little time, I quitted my old job and I moved to another city. Now I work as a photographer (another form of expression that I absolutely love), I’m super happy with my job, and I meet the love of my life.

I have to say that Coelho’s book “Manual of The Warrior of Light” is one of the “engines” that helped me toward my happiness, and will continue 😉

What more can you tell us about your art?

I am completely self taught, I usually draw hyperrealistic portraits (@elena.mantovan.paintings), so I looked for an easier, more playful and colourful style, to use watercolor and ink pens.

The great thing of being self taught is that you are completely free. I can just let that Art takes my hand and drive.

🌟🌟🌟 A warrior of light needs both patience and speed. The two worst strategic mistakes to make are: acting prematurely and let an opportunity slip; to avoid this, the warrior treats each situation as if it was unique and never resorts to formulae, recipes or other people's opinions. The caliph Moauiyat asked Omr Ben Al-Aas the secret of his great political skills: 'I never get involved in something without having first worked out my retreat; the again, I have never gone into a situation and immediately wanted to run straight out again', came the answer. • • • #illustration #paulocoelhoquotes #paulocoelho #bookstagram #bookillustration #instapainting #instabooks #loveit #inspiration #meditation #balance #strategy #like4like #painting #follow4follow #realfollowers #reading #quotes #goodmorningart #art #artshelp #watercolor #creativeartstudio #wednesday #mindfulness • • • Always thanks to @paulocoelho for all of his words. ❤
