Why did you pick this picture?
The realistic hand i painted was a big achievement for me at the time. It shows what i wanted to reach for, but by reaching it i would also be reaching my own death. My mind and feelings is expressed in this artwork. For a 15 year-old, it was quite dark.
Where did the idea for this art come from?
As a 15 year-old during the time, i was influenced and peer pressured by friends to act in a certain way. To seem “cool” in order too keep my friends, but always lying to myself, harming myself.
What does this art mean to you?
My childhood. What i went through, what i learnt, what i loved, what i lived. The things that would kill, the things thats forgiven, and the things that forgotten.
What can you tell us about yourself?
Around 15 i was a depressed kid. I had issues with my parents, ran away alot, gain multiple kinds of experience, but over the courses of it all i maintained my skill as in artist. Infact, some of the depression helped me developed me as an artist. Recently i turned 18 and im glad to say that i went through those traumas. It helped me understood myself better.
What more can you tell us about your art?
I gave up painting 3-4 years ago and mostly stick to pen and paper ever since.? However I’m thinking of trying oil painting soon.
