Grizzly – Eleri Williams

Why did you pick this picture:

I’m really happy with how this drawing turned out. I’ve really enjoyed experimenting with the use of colour and I’m so pleased with the final result that I no want to experiment further with colour.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I constantly look at other artists’ works for inspiration and come across a number of pieces that have drawn my attention because of the way the artist uses colour. I wanted to experiment using brighter/unusual colours in my own work which has resulted in my grizzly drawing.

What does this art mean to you?

This piece took over 40 hours to complete and used 35 different marker pen colours to create layers and texture. This piece is important to me because it’s shown me a new opportunity to further experiment with the use of colour in my drawings.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’ve been drawing since a very young age. I would draw horses and cartoon animal characters and it’s only in the past few years that I’ve started to concentrate on promoting and selling my artworks. I’ve exhibited as part of group exhibitions and hope to one day have a solo exhibition of my work.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I use a combination of professional grade alcohol based marker pens with acrylic paint on paper to produce my drawings.

My artwork is usually A3/A2 in size which allows me to add a lot more detail into my drawings especially the eye of the animal.

Visit my instagram gallery or Etsy shop for more of my work.
