Michonne – Felipe Silva Lemes

Why did you pick this picture?

Her look and detail always drawed my attention and this pic synthesize much of my art in general, my inspirations and my skills

Where did the idea for this art come from?

My inspiration is my life. What I’m doing at that moment that I’m creating. What I am thinking. What I am feeling. Could be a music, a movie, a book, a game, an animation or my own ideas. Drawing is the way that I express it out. At the time I was very excited about The Walkind Dead, and this character picture caught my eye at the details, so I gathered my excitement about the show and the willingness to create a new drawing.

What does this art mean to you?

I am very proud of this piece, it was a huge challenge and evolution of my skills at the time. I overcame myself with this draw, so the final result surprised me and made me very happy

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’ve always been a very clear example of what is known by Nerd, cause I’ve always liked movies, comics, manga, anime, video games, books and so on. Drawing was the way that I found to create something concrete with the imagination that these tastes gave me. My father also draws and has always encouraged me not to lose this gift. So what was a hobby became something bigger and nowadays is a part of who I am.

What more can you tell us about your art?

My art is my voice in form of an image. Sometimes it’s something outside me that touched me. Sometimes is something inside me that I want to exteriorize. Could be a simple and silly message or could be something important and deep. Everything depends on my feelings at that moment and the a message that I want to express.
