The Last Supper – Danijel Podobnik

Why did you pick this picture?

The reason why I chose this picture is because this painting is the fifth that I have painted in realism and it has a religious meaning. It was painted over 2 and a half months, with about 450 hours of work put into it

Where did the idea come from?

The idea came from another artist who dedicated his art and paintings on religion, his name being Walter Rane. I chose his painting of The Last Supper and did my own spin on it.

What does this art mean to you?

This art shows that I have learned how to switch between different techniques. I am a big lover of hyperrealism and realism so this was another experience for me. It also showed that I am able to paint what I imagine.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I’m 30 years old. I like to think of myself as an amateur painter as I did not go to art school. I started painting when I was 12 and since then I have never stopped. Every day I’m grateful for my talent and my wish is to become the best hyperrealistic painter I can be.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I really love to paint with acrylic paints, and all of my art is done with them. Sometimes it can be hard to make a painting because the acrylic becomes dry very quickly so everything needs to be done in a short period of time and I’m still learning on how to improve it
