Heath Ledger Portrait – Anna Elizabeth

Why did you pick this picture?

This was the first graphite portrait I did where I was actually proud of the result. For me this picture represents all my practise and hard work beginning to pay off. I was really scared to draw this because Heath Ledger is one of my favourite actors and I really wanted to make this special

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I have always loved movies and am a huge film buff. Heath Ledger has always been my favourite actor and I drew this in January to commemorate 10 years since he passed away.

What does this art mean to you?

I have always loved realism and trying to create portraits and drawings as realistic as possible. I like the idea of capturing someone on paper as they are.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I am a film lover and pop culture nerd and from a very early age I would create art of my favourite movie characters. As a child I did not think I was very good at art and didn’t really practise drawing very often because of that. However last year I decided to focus on learning new techniques and practising every day and I’m so glad that I did. I’m a big believer that anyone can draw, it just takes practise!

What more can you tell us about your art?

I’m still no where near as good as I would like to be at drawing but will keep practising every day. Coloured pencil drawings are my favourite to do and I’m always exploring new techniques to keep improving!
