tree stump structure – Sarah Jessica Nietsch

Why did you pick this picture?

The flowing structure on this tree stump is stunningly fascinating.

Where did the idea of this art come from?

This tree stump looked partly like a rock but also had these typical wooden textures and structures. It caught my attention while hiking in a forest near my home.

What does this art mean to you?

I like to draw the viewers attention to details they might tend to walk by. Photography gives me the means to do so. Like every art it’s a way to express myself and often I let my emotions decide how I take and edit photos.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I grew up in southern Germany and after attending a school for art and design, some time ago I became…yes, a chef!

Now I’m trying to focus more on photography again.

What more can you tell us about your art?

Mostly I’m interested in nature and landscape photography but occasionally I’ll try out some portraits or event photos for a befriended band. With everything new I try I find more to learn and improve.

Also, I paint but it always takes me forever to finish a painting.
