On my moon’s paths – Leonore Queffelec-Engerer

Why did you pick this picture?

Because I love the universe of the writer Lewis Carol. How he describes all the tests we have to face, and how do we play here. We have to fix puzzles every days.

Alice is a very strong metaphor of life. It represents all the different paths we have to take during our existence and the choices we are confronted too.

The reality is an absurdity, and nothing has a sense if you think about it.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I was born in an artistic environment. My mum is a pianist and my father is a writer.

They wanted to give me a complete education, so i always studied music, dance, painting, theater, in parallel of school.

Furthermore, my mother was always bringing me across the world because of the concerts she had to do. So I am really open minded and interested about every culture. Passionate by every identifications and ethnic groups.

What does this art mean to you?

Art is way to describe the absurdity of our world. As Andre Malraux, a French writer was saying, it is the « Anti-Destiny » of men.

It’s a way to leave a trace and a testimony for the future generations.

And in a way, to preserve ourselves from death. It a way to get out of the hell we a living in. A world were money rules everything and which doesn’t care about humans.

What can you tell us about yourself?

Well, I have the formation of an actress. I made the french school theater « Les cours Florent », and then I perfected my self with Andreas Voutsinas, an actor and art director who was a professor at the actor studio. And i studied art at l’école du Louvre in Paris.

I created two shows which mixes classical music and text I wrote, plus poems and Russian tales.

I love to combination of those several arts and to create a link between them.

Since the beginning of the year, I started to paint because I need to create things. This is something stronger that me, it goes beyond me.

I also have a Master of political communication, and digital communication

What more can you tell us about your art?

I always loved art, I am a great admirer of Marc Chagall and Salvador Dali.

My artistic process is based on the surrealism. I try to go beyond of what we see through colors.

I like also to paste matter, to give some relief to a painting, to make it alive. It is something more than me.

I want to painted skies and sea because as Charles Baudelaire was saying, « the music fathoms the sky » , that s why I often put music notes in my paintings.

Because music emerges from the earth to go through the sky.
