Alien – Nanna M. Jørgensen

Why did you pick this picture?

i personally love how it pops out of the paper. and it taught me so many lessons, about guache and colours.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I have always loved getting into the different forms of the human face and body with my art, and complimenting colours of nature. I wanted to paint something simple, yet beautiful and divine.

What does this art mean to you?

This piece was the first of many guache paintings, that I felt hit something in me. Guache is hard at first, but the results are gorgeous when you start to understand it.

What can you tell us about yourself?

I have always loved drawing, and its the only thing I could imagine doing with my life. I’m mostly self taught, inspired by greek and norse art aswell as romantic painting. I found my path when I was introduced to body art, tattooing and piercing. Since then I’ve strived to perfect my line and style, so I can live out my passion as a tattooer. Art is my meditation.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I am endlessly inspired by visionary artists, and I am excited by all the paths I can take with my art. I hope to one day create a collective of artists in wich we can all go exploring. For any artist out there, the only way you can fail is if you give up. Even the most adored artists of time, had blocks and insecurieties. When you fight it, thats where you find the creativity.
