Luna Mandala – Miranda

Why did you pick this picture?

I picked this picture because it is one of my favourites. When I am drawing, my little lovebird Luna sits on my shoulder and keeps an eye on what I am doing. In this picture she flew at my drawing while I was making pictures and posed perfectly! She’s my little baby so I had to share this moment with my followers.

Where did the idea for this art come from?

I am getting most of my inspiration from a lot of other artists on Instagram. When I scroll through my social media, I am getting an idea of what I want to draw. But when I start drawing, a lot of other ideas come up at the moment. It never works out to what I was planning to make.

What does this art mean to you?

This art means a lot to me because I use it like a therapy to release my stress and anxiety. When I draw I just completely get lost into it, it makes me feel so relaxed.

What can you tell us about yourself?

1.5 year ago, I had to stop working because of my anxiety and panic attacks. Sitting at home and don’t know what to do was making me depressed. Until my best friend advised me to draw Mandalas. She thought it would be a good idea to clear my head and feel more relaxed.

I am still thankful she told me this. Because every time I feel anxious or stressed, I take my paper and pencils, start drawing and forget about anything else.

What more can you tell us about your art?

I started drawing just to get rid of my depression and anxiety. I could have never thought that I would be someone to inspire other people. I feel so honoured when artists messaging me their artwork that is inspired by me. I also got the chance to make a design for the new collection of the clothing line from a friend of mine. It is just really nice to see that people love my artwork. So now I am not only drawing to get calm, I am also drawing for fun
